Welcome to River Valley Holdings, Inc.
The River Valley Companies include River Valley Foods, Inc., and Cavallaro Foods, LLC. The companies provide wholesale frozen, refrigerated, and dry grocery items and together provide a complete, full service specialty foods program.
River Valley was formed in 1985, when present management purchased the assets of the retail division of Sysco Frosted Foods, Syracuse division. Cavallaro Foods became one of the River Valley companies in 2004, when it was purchased from Mark Cavallaro who began distributing specialty groceries from Syracuse in 1989.
Together, River Valley and Cavallaro stock all major frozen food and ice cream brands, and a great variety of specialty items, over 8000 SKU's in all. We deliver to major supermarket chains, drug chains, independents, and super centers in Upstate New York and Pennsylvania.
The "River Valley" brand consists of extra high quality frozen vegetables, juices, ice cream, and other categories.
Our corporate office and main distribution center are located at 5881 Court Street Road, Syracuse, NY.
The River Valley and Cavallaro Full Service Program
- Identify and qualify products likely to contribute to our customers' success
- Respond to customer inquiries concerning specific products or categories
- Determine how these products should be merchandised and promoted
- Present and explain the products, their value and correct merchandising
- Purchase and store the selected items
- Order and deliver the products as needed by each store
- Correctly stock our customers' shelves
- Track, evaluate, and report sales results
- Recommend replacement items when necessary
