Cavallaro Foods

Cavallaro Foods is a specialty foods distributor founded by Mark Cavallaro. Cavallaro Specialty Foods opened its doors on December 15, 1986 after purchasing a small specialty foods distribution company called Gene Golas Distributing. The first warehouse was located on Anderson Avenue in Syracuse and was just under 10,000 square feet. Customers were spread across Central New York, the North Country, and Southern tier. On December 11, 1989, Cavallaro purchased A.J. Altman Distributing Co. in Rochester and then began servicing the Rochester and Buffalo area as well.

Cavallaro has always offered its customers a full-service program and this is one thing that has distinguished them in the industry.

In 2004, Cavallaro Foods became part of River Valley Foods and together they have continued to offer a high level of service to customers across the Northeast.
